Hello Bestie Data Policy

This Data Policy describes how Hello Bestie collects, processes, stores, uses, and shares information in connection with Hello Bestie websites, mobile applications, memberships, events, travel opportunities, merchandise, advertising opportunities, community features, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
I. What Information Do We Collect?
Information You Provide We collect information and content you provide when you create an account, complete your profile, participate in the community, communicate with other members, register for events or travel opportunities, purchase memberships or merchandise, submit content, respond to surveys or promotions, or otherwise interact with Hello Bestie.
This information may include your name, username, email address, mailing address, age eligibility information, profile information, photos, messages, comments, posts, event registrations, travel registrations, membership information, purchase information, and other content you choose to provide. We may also collect information about the content you submit, including metadata such as file type, creation date, and other technical information associated with uploaded content.
Community Connections and Interactions We collect information about how you interact with other members, communities, events, groups, content, and features within Hello Bestie. This may include information about your participation in local communities, event attendance, travel participation, communications, reactions, comments, follows, connections, and other interactions within the platform.
Information Provided by Others We may receive information about you when other members interact with you, mention you, tag you, invite you to events, communicate with you, submit content involving you, or otherwise engage with features of Hello Bestie.
Device and Technical Information We collect information from and about the computers, mobile devices, tablets, and other internet-connected devices you use to access Hello Bestie. This information helps us provide, maintain, secure, and improve our Services.
Information we may collect includes:
• Device Information: Information about your device, including device type, operating system, browser type, hardware and software versions, mobile carrier, language settings, and screen resolution.
• Device Activity and Usage Information: Information about how you access and interact with Hello Bestie, including pages viewed, features used, clicks, navigation patterns, login activity, and other usage information.
• Device Identifiers: Unique device identifiers, account identifiers, application identifiers, and other technical identifiers associated with your use of Hello Bestie.

• Verify eligibility for membership and participation in Hello Bestie communities;
• Connect members with local communities, events, travel opportunities, memberships, merchandise, and other offerings;
• Process registrations, purchases, memberships, payments, and transactions;
• Personalize content, recommendations, communications, events, and community experiences;
• Provide customer support and respond to member inquiries;
• Analyze usage trends and improve the functionality, performance, and security of Hello Bestie;
• Develop, test, and improve products, features, services, and community offerings;
• Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized activity, and violations of our Terms and Community Guidelines; and
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our policies and agreements.
Location Information We may use location-related information, including mailing addresses, community location information, IP address data, and location information you choose to provide, to connect members with local communities, events, travel opportunities, and other location-based services available through Hello Bestie.
Research and Development We may use information to develop, test, improve, and enhance Hello Bestie, its features, services, events, memberships, travel opportunities, merchandise offerings, and member experiences.
Advertising, Sponsorships, and Promotions We may use information about member interests, preferences, community participation, and interactions with Hello Bestie to provide relevant promotions, sponsorship opportunities, event information, memberships, merchandise offerings, travel opportunities, and other content related to Hello Bestie. We do not sell Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes without consent.
Measurement, Analytics, and Business Services We use information we collect to measure engagement, evaluate the effectiveness of content, events, promotions, memberships, merchandise offerings, travel opportunities, sponsorships, advertising opportunities, and other services provided through Hello Bestie. We may also use information to generate analytics, reports, and insights that help us improve our Services and better serve our members, sponsors, partners, advertisers, and service providers.
Safety, Integrity, and Security We use information to verify accounts and eligibility requirements, monitor activity, detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, unauthorized access, harmful conduct, and violations of our Terms, Community Guidelines, and other policies. We also use information to help maintain the safety, integrity, security, and reliability of Hello Bestie, its members, and its Services.
Communications We use information to communicate with you regarding your account, memberships, purchases, events, travel opportunities, promotions, surveys, customer support requests, policy updates, security matters, community activities, and other information related to Hello Bestie. We may also send marketing and promotional communications in accordance with your communication preferences and applicable law. In addition, we use information to respond to questions, requests, feedback, and other communications you send to us.
III. How Is Information Shared?
Information Shared Within Hello Bestie Information you choose to share through Hello Bestie may be visible to other members depending on the privacy settings, community settings, group settings, event settings, and features you use.
For example:
• Profile information, posts, comments, photos, messages, event participation, recommendations, reviews, and other User Content may be visible to other members of Hello Bestie;
• Content shared within a group, community, event, or other feature may be visible to the members authorized to access that area;
• Information you choose to make public may be viewed, copied, shared, or redistributed by others.
You should carefully consider what information you choose to share because information visible to others may be copied, redistributed, or shared outside of Hello Bestie by those who have access to it.
Content Shared About You Other members may post, comment on, tag, mention, photograph, or otherwise share content that includes information about you. We do not control how other members use or share information once it has been made available to them.
Business Transfers If Hello Bestie experiences a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, change of control, or similar business transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
Sharing with Service Providers and Partners We may share information with trusted service providers, vendors, contractors, sponsors, event partners, travel providers, payment processors, analytics providers, advertisers, and other business partners who assist us in operating, supporting, improving, securing, or providing services through Hello Bestie.
Analytics and Reporting We may provide aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information and reports to sponsors, advertisers, business partners, analytics providers, and service providers to help measure engagement, evaluate services, understand trends, and improve offerings. Such information will not identify you personally.
Legal Requests and Protection We may disclose information when required by law or when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms or policies, protect the rights, safety, security, or property of Hello Bestie or others, investigate suspected misconduct, or respond to governmental, regulatory, or law enforcement requests.
IV. How Can I Manage Information About Me?
We provide members with the ability to access, update, correct, and manage certain information associated with their accounts through Hello Bestie and, where applicable, through requests submitted to support@hellobestie.co.
You may update profile information, communication preferences, account settings, and certain other information through your account settings. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with your account by contacting us.
Data Retention We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Hello Bestie, fulfill the purposes described in our Privacy Policy and Data Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and support legitimate business operations.
The length of time information is retained depends on the nature of the information, the purpose for which it was collected, legal requirements, operational needs, and other relevant factors.
Account Deletion You may delete your account through the settings available within Hello Bestie or by emailing support@hellobestie.co. When your account is deleted, we will take reasonable steps to remove or anonymize information associated with your account, subject to legal, regulatory, contractual, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backup, and operational retention requirements.
Please note that content, communications, comments, photos, event participation records, messages, or other information shared by other members or involving interactions with other members may not be removed solely because you delete your account. Certain information may also remain in backups, archives, logs, or records for a limited period of time as required for legal, security, or operational purposes.
V. How Do We Respond to Legal Requests and Protect the Community?
We may access, preserve, use, and disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to:
• Comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, court orders, subpoenas, governmental requests, or law enforcement requirements;
• Respond to legal claims, investigations, audits, regulatory inquiries, or other legal obligations;
• Detect, investigate, prevent, or address fraud, unauthorized access, security incidents, abuse, harassment, harmful conduct, violations of our Terms, Community Guidelines, Child Safety Policy, or other policies;
• Protect the rights, property, safety, security, and integrity of Hello Bestie, its members, employees, representatives, service providers, partners, and third parties; or
• Prevent, investigate, or respond to situations involving potential harm, illegal activity, threats to public safety, or emergencies.
Information may be preserved for longer periods when necessary to comply with legal obligations, respond to legal requests, resolve disputes, investigate misconduct, enforce our policies, maintain security, prevent fraud, or protect the safety and integrity of Hello Bestie and its community.
We may also retain information associated with accounts that have been suspended, restricted, or terminated for violations of our Terms, Community Guidelines, Child Safety Policy, or other policies for a reasonable period of time to prevent repeat violations, fraud, abuse, or other harmful activity.
VI. How Will We Notify You of Changes to This Data Policy?
We may update this Data Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, business practices, legal requirements, technology, or other operational needs.
When material changes are made, we may notify members through Hello Bestie, by email, through in-app notifications, or by other reasonable means. We encourage you to review this Data Policy periodically to stay informed about how we collect, use, store, and share information.
Your continued use of Hello Bestie after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Data Policy.
